Dear EGC participants,
we are now in total 887 registered persons for the European Go Congress, 705 to play in the tournaments: http://egc2008.eu/en/registration/statistics.php .
Here are some practical issues, reminders and advice for your arrival in Leksand:
* If you haven't booked airport transfer it is advisable to do so. You can buy train tickets from Arlanda airport to Leksand online, following the instructions at: http://egc2008.eu/en/travel/train.php . You can also book bus transfer from Arlanda or Skavsta at: http://egc2008.eu/en/travel/bus.php . The bus transfer booking online will be closed a couple of days before the congress starts.
* If you have booked bus transfer from the airport but haven't given us your flight number and landing time, please write to us and give us this information, since we will then have better chances to wait for you if your flight is delayed.
* When you arrive in Leksand, unless you get other individual information, please go first to our registration desk in the Gymnasium school ( http://egc2008.eu/en/congress/venue.php#gymnasium ), before going to your accommodation.
* In many of the lodgings, bed linen and towels are not automatically included. If you stay in Tallbacken, Paraden, Leksand Youth Hostel, Västanvik hostel and Campus Leksand you can either bring your own sheets, or you can rent or buy ones when you arrive. The rent for sheets and towels or the cost to buy them when you arrive varies between 5.5 euro and 12 euro in the different places.
* There is no currency exchange open in Leksand on saturday or sunday, but most places, including the EGC, take common credit cards.
* For bicycle rentals, please try in the first place to organise them directly with the dealer: http://egc2008.eu/en/travel/bicycle.php , but if you need assistance, we will help you.
* There are still places left for the wednesday excursions, the weekend excursion to Stockholm and the discount tickets for the performances in Dalhalla, but to be sure to get a place it is advisable to book tickets soon at: http://egc2008.eu/en/registration/book_tickets.php .
